Shooting behind the back

Matt Danowski: Shooting Behind Your Back

The behind-the-back shot is both flashy and useful. This shot or pass can be used when your opponent’s stick is in front of your body, making it difficult for you to pass or shoot with a normal motion. Another time to shoot behind the back is when it will increase the angle of your shot. When performing a behind-the-back shot or pass, be sure to throw the ball over your shoulder/neck area, NOT down by your hip. Also, focus on rotating your body instead of using your arms as a lever. You should only practice this move after mastering overhand throwing and shooting.
