Direct your team's offense
Mikey Powell: Playing Behind the Cage
Playing behind the goal has a lot of advantages and can be a lot of fun. If you’re the team member who usually plays behind the goal, you’re essentially the player in charge of directing your team’s offense. The player behind the goal is able to see the entire field. You’re able to see your teammates cutting, moving, and getting open, and it’s your job to give them a good pass and help the team score. Playing behind the goal is the best place to control the offense and rack up assists. Be sure to keep your head up while you’re carrying the ball so you can quickly pass the ball to open teammates who are in position for easy goals. Once you have developed into a good feeder, you can work on dodging from behind the cage to score.
