Shooting in close
Lacrosse Shooting: Shooting From In Close
When shooting in close proximity to the goal (within a couple of yards), keep your feet moving, use a wrist shot rather than a big windup shot, and change the plane of your shot. Keeping your feet moving will help you avoid getting hit from defensemen as you shoot. Shooting with a quick wrist shot rather than a big windup shot will help you protect your stick and prevent it from being checked by defenders. Changing the plane of your shot (shooting high to low or low to high), will help you put the ball past the goalie and into the net.
