Steady Pressure

When attempting to force your opponent away from the goal, bend your knees, place your hands and shaft on your opponent's hip, and apply steady pressure to "drive" him away from the goal using your legs for power. Defenders will too often over-extend themselves by trying to "shove" their opponent using the strength in their arms and upper body for power. However, using the arms and upper body to shove an opponent will often take the defender out of a proper defensive position, making it much easier for the opponent to run by the defender.
