Jesse Hubbard: How to Free Your Hands Before a Shot or Feed

On offense, you don’t have to beat your defender to score – you just have to get your hands free so you can shoot the ball. Often times, not beating your defender and using him as a screen (letting him stand in between you and the goal and shooting right around him) while shooting the ball is the easiest way to score. This is because it makes it difficult for the goalie to see the ball when you shoot because the defender is standing in the way. Often times, the goalie will never see the shot coming and even poorly placed shots or shots without much speed will go in the goal.
